I am looking forward to finishing my massive list of Christmas cookies that need to be baked and then spending the holiday with my family. Nothing fancy, just a good (and relaxing) time!

I wish that there was more happy news to report this time of year but it seems like there is little good going on in our world lately.
The situation in Ferguson has been nothing but insane. Rather you side with the police officer or the man who was shot, there was no reason for the people of the town to destroy their own town. Now those who destroyed their community expect people to rebuild Ferguson for them. This issue shouldn't be looked upon as a black vs white issue. Maybe the shoot and trial were, maybe they weren't. But burning down your own community, hurting those who have nothing to do with what happened-that is nothing but pure stupidity and selfishness. You are what you project into society. If you act like a thug and make stupid decisions, then you get labeled an uneducated thug. It's not that complicated.
Did we let terrorists control us? The recent terrorist threats against theaters planning to show The Interview have caused Sony to drop plans to release the movie on Christmas Day. To me this raises the question, did we really back down to terrorists? It appears that way. But when you think about those who are in the position to make the decision to show it or not, if they proceed with the scheduled debut and somebody does carry out terrorist actions- killing a theater full of people - all the blame will come back on those few. Could you live with yourself if you ended up being responsible for a theater full of people's deaths? It's really not as clear cut as it first appears.
Reopening ties with Cuba. Only time will tell if this was a good idea.
Negative Interest Rates? Paying a bank to save your money...it's happening now.
